Despite some rainy weather, Adam and Stacy’s wedding turned out wonderfully and everyone had a fantastic time! I loved how they incorporated their personalities and heritage into all the wedding details. Stay tuned for more wedding photos to come!

I am so excited to finally share the wonderful wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Paul and Elise. It was such a special, personal day and they both put so much thought and personality in to every detail — the whole day was just SO Elise and Paul. From reading Elise’s blog, I know how much hard work she put into planning their wedding, but the whole day just seemed so effortless. Geoff and I both felt special to be the ones capturing it. We began the day taking some photos of Elise and Paul getting ready at the Citizen hotel, the location of their reception.

Let me tell you, I LOVED Elise’s color scheme. Orange and grey? Perfection! I am such a sucker for bright colors though.

Once the girls and guys were ready, we headed a couple blocks over to the ever beautiful Capitol Park for Elise and Paul’s first look.

Just around the corner from the Citizen, we spotted this amazing poppy-wall. It was just perfect. I’m dreaming of having a poppy-wall in my house now.

When it was time for their fist look, Elise ran up to Paul and gave him a huge bear hug. It was adorable. I just love getting to see the “first look faces”. So full of joy and excitement.

Then it was time to get the bridal party back together for some photos of this fine-looking group of friends.

Isn’t Elise’s dress wonderful? Not to mention how GORGEOUS she looked in it.

After picture time at the park, everyone headed to St. John’s Lutheran Church, which is simply lovely itself.

Elise nearly brought me to tears as she walked down the aisle with her dad. The look of overwhelming joy on her face and the happy tears that filled her eyes were just priceless.

And then they were married.

After the ceremony we all went back to the Citizen Hotel for some portraits of the newlyweds. We took a few out front and then rode up to their honeymoon suite for some pictures on the balcony overlooking the Sacramento skyline.

I proposed some jumping-on-the-bed photos and I’m so glad Paul and Elise said yes!

The wallpaper in the Citizen is to die for. It fit so perfectly with their color scheme!

Reception time! Check out all of Elise and Paul’s great details. My favorites are the cute menu cards (which Elise designed herself to match her wedding invitations) and the “e&p” cocktail napkins. So cute and colorful!

This one just cracks me up. I wonder what this little guy was saying that was so fascinating?

Elise’s aunts planned this awesome game where Paul and Elise had to answer questions like, “Who does most of the cleaning?”, and “Who is the better cook?” It was the first time I’d seen that at a wedding and it was soooo cute. They even got all but one question right!

CONGRATULATIONS Elise and Paul! We feel so honored to have been a part of your special day! Everything came together so beautifully. I know you two will have many, many years of happiness together. You two rock! Oh and readers, be sure to check out Elise’s blog to get the bride-and-groom side of the wedding day story!

I really, really love my job. I love going through a wedding we just shot on my computer with a HUGE smile across my face because everything just makes me so happy. The amazing couples we get to meet, the love they share and being lucky enough to be the ones capture it, the photographs we get to create knowing they will be treasured for generations. Okay, okay, I’m getting a little cheesy but I LOVE what Geoff and I do! Well, I had a gigantic smile all day long at Ryan and Shannon’s wedding at the Flower Farm in Loomis, CA. I absolutely love this one that Geoff captured below. You simply must come back to see the rest!

Now that I’ve shared Dorothy and Teddy’s wedding photos, I get to share their invitation design! When Dorothy approached me about designing their wedding invitations, she told me was inspired by an adorable Downtown Sacramento Boutique, Le Petit Paris. She wanted something simple and elegant incorporating the colors of blush and espresso. The full suite included the invitation, RSVP postcard, reception information card and map, and post-wedding announcement.

I designed a monogram that appeared on each piece. Dorothy even used the monogram on her reception menu and favors! I love to see the design elements get used throughout the wedding.

This is the front and back of the postcard RSVP. Dorothy and Teddy applied a stamp to the back, so all their guests had to do was fill our there names and preferences and drop it in the mailbox.

Here is the reception card with a custom map of Downtown Sacramento.

I think my favorite part of the suite has to be the map. I adore the way it turned out. It was so much fun to design! It told guests were to find all the wedding events and pointed out parking and hotels.

Dorothy’s mother commissioned some announcements to send out after the wedding as well. Overall the design turned out elegant and pretty, with a modern flair. And now, having attended the wedding, I’d say they matched the day perfectly!

There really is not a couple more classy, genuine, sweet and loving than Dorothy and Teddy. It was a pleasure to spend their wedding day with them, meet their friends and family, and learn even more about their adorable love story. Geoff and I met up with Teddy and Dorothy at the Sheraton Hotel in Downtown Sacramento where they were getting ready for their big day.

Of course Dorothy had her red slippers! How could she not? You know, when they first sent us an inquiry, I told Geoff, “These are going to be cool people, I mean, how can they not be with adorable names like Dorothy and Teddy?!” I was right!

Dorothy was a stunning bride. I loved getting to see her all dolled up! She is one of the sweetest girls you’ll meet and it was so much fun taking photos of her.

As usual Geoff was with the gentlemen as they got ready themselves.

Teddy and Dorothy decided they wanted to see each other before the ceremony. We set them up in the shade of the trees in beautiful Capitol Park and the two shared very sweet moment. I love that we got to capture it.

There were lots of happy tears!

I love these two shots together, you really get to see how Geoff and I work together when we take photographs. I can bet you that these two images were taken at the exact same moment!

We had such a wonderful time taking portraits of these two, we almost didn’t want to stop. But it was time for Dorothy and Teddy to tie the knot! I must say, I LOVED their ceremony. Their officiant told such cute stories about the two of them and they both had such joy on their faces.

After they were hitched, we headed over to the reception at Mulvaney’s Building and Loan, which sounds like a bank but really is an amazing restaurant with mouth-watering cuisine prepared from the seasonal harvest of local farms. To. Die. For. I loved all of their reception’s little details. The room was decorated with twinkly lights and cherry blossoms and couple’s seating chart was made up of Sacramento neighborhoods. Loved that!

I’m telling ya, the food was bomb.

I just love a good cake-to-face! I suppose you could say the cake was…smashing? Bwahaha!

Teddy and Dorthy—HUGE congrats to you two! Geoff and I are so happy to have met you two. Your love story is such an inspiration and you guys are perfect for each other. Thank you for choosing us to capture your first moments as husband and wife. Married life rocks, enjoy it!
