Mike & Shawna Old Sacramento Engagement Session
April 28, 2010We had an amazing time with Mike and Shawna at their engagement session. They are completely adorable together! We adore how much they showed they love each other throughout the evening and love how cute they look in the photos! We held their engagement session in Old Sacramento, which was the location of not only their first date but it was where Mike proposed too! It is safe to say that Old Sac holds a special place in their hearts. They even brought along their lil’ doggie Scout! He was a perfect model!
Aren’t Scout’s shades the cutest?! Bear hug!
We had some fun playing around the rail yard on Front Street.
We went over by the train tracks where there was some lovely sunshine-y light. The three of them look so sweet here.
I love this cute little “family portrait.”
SCOUT! I couldn’t stop taking pictures of this adorable dog. But hey, I love doggies!
Then we headed over to Tower Bridge for some more photos. I love the way the yellow bridge looks here. Plus Mike and Shawna are as cute and lovey as ever.
Mike and Shawna told us how on their first date they took a walk across the Tower Bridge and ended up having an entire conversation about this sign.
We even got the chance to capture some photos of the lit-up bridge after dusk. SO LOVELY!
Mike and Shawna, how can we not love you two!? We had a brilliant time at your engagement session and are honored that we get to capture your love. We had so much fun with you and are immensely excited about you wedding at the end of may!

April 16, 2010Mike and Melissa’s engagement session
April 13, 2010Mike and Melissa are one downright amazing couple of people. I cannot even begin to say how happy we are that they chose us to be their wedding photographers. They are completely adorable together and so much fun to hang out with. We’ve bonded over the love of LOST, becoming homeowners together, and a passion for frozen yogurt. Mmmmmm…yog… What is even more awesome is the fact that Mike is a member of The Hits, aka the coolest 80’s-and-more cover band you’ll ever hear! I just wish I’d known about them for our wedding. Yes, I think Geoff and I have definitely fallen for Mike and Melissa. Needless to say, we were suuuuuper excited about their engagement session. We kicked things off at their fantastic new home they purchased last year.
Isn’t thier house adorable? They are pretty cute too, hehe.
After hanging out at the Casa, we headed over to Fremont Park in downtown Sacramento for some awesome swing set action.
Yay for props! Mike and Melissa brought along some colorful lollipops. SO cute you guys!
Our next stop was Rick’s Dessert Diner, one of Mike and Melissa’s favorite sweet spots. Yeeeeeah, if you’ve never been there, go NOW and try one of everything ’cause it’s all amazing. Then when you’re done bring me some too.
To top off the evening, Mike and Melissa thought it would be fun to go bowling. They were absolutely right!
And when the bright lights went down and the blacklights came on, things got really interesting!
We had SO MUCH fun making these photos! Even the people bowling next to us were getting into it! By the way these photos are the real deal — no photoshop, people!
Mike and Melissa, we are so grateful to have gotten to know you two and we are so ecstatic that we get to be a part of your wedding day! Thank you both for an amazing time! We had a blast!

Josh and Kelly’s midtown engagement session
April 6, 2010I cannot event begin to tell you how happy I am that Kelly and Josh asked us to be their photographers. I’ve know Kelly for ::counts on fingers:: wow, almost seven years now. She is one of my sorority sisters from Chi Delta at Sac State and seriously, one of the sweetest girls you will EVER meet. Such a kind heart, incredibly beautiful and super cool and full of style to boot! Her fiancee Josh is a pretty awesome guy as well and I just think they are a perfect pair. This couple lives in Downtown Sacramento, so we though an urban engagement session was just the ticket.
They brought along their TINY doggy Lucy. And boy, do I mean tiny! Lucy is the smallest dog I’ve ever seen! She was completely adorable.
Josh and Kelly even brought their way rad cruiser bikes. I love it when couples bring props!
Finally, we stopped by one of mine and Geoff’s FAVORITE places, Ginger Elizabeth. Their chocolates are scrumptious and their parisian macarons are the best ones we’ve had this side of the Atlantic. If you have never had a Parisian macaron, RUN don’t walk down to Ginger Elizabeth and try every flavor. They are the best cookie ever!
Sorry Lucy, these babies are too good to share!
Josh and Kelly we just love you guys! Thanks for such a great time. We cannot wait for your wedding in October!

Teddy and Dorothy are wed! (teaser)
April 2, 2010We were so honored to be present at the marriage of the very sweet and sophisticated Teddy and Dorothy. The day started off at Capitol Park for a very heartfelt ceremony and ended with great food and fun at Mulvaney’s Building and Loan. These two share a wonderful little love story and capturing their wedding day was so much fun. We’ve got more to share so don’t stray too far!
