Adam and Stacy’s rainy-day wedding
June 16, 2010The weather on Adam and Stacy’s wedding may have been a little grey and rainy but it really was a beautiful day full of personal details, family involvement, and lots o’ love. I do have to begin by saying how wonderful it has been to get to know this fun couple. Stacy is originally from Hawaii and so full of life and positive energy. Adam is intelligent, witty and a ton of fun to be around. It was such a wonderful thing to be a part of these two’s wedding day. I kicked things off at the home of a family friend where the ladies readied for the day. I had a blast taking photos of all of Stacy’s cute details.
I really love how Stacy included her Hawaiian culture into the wedding with the bridesmaids dresses and the flowers. She was even sweet enough to have a lei for me and Geoff!
Geoff was of course with the guys at a nearby hotel. They prepared for the day with a few drinks!
Once the girls were ready, Adam came to the house to see his bride. We set them up in the backyard for their First Look.
I love this one of their florals. Stacy taught me something about the lei. If you are married, the bow goes on the left, just like your wedding ring. Stacy figured she was close enough to being married, so on the left it was!
Once we were done taking photos, the rain decided it was time to join the party. We headed over to Adam’s parents house where the ceremony and reception was to be held.
I love this one of all the umbrellas. Gotta keep dry!
Needless to say, it was quite wet in the backyard where everything was set up. I had fun taking photos of all the raindrops on everything. The guests hung out inside while the rain came down.
Adam and Stacy are serious beer connoisseurs so they named all the table numbers after some of their favorite breweries. They even made custom pint glasses as favors/escort cards.
Luckily the rain cleared up juuuust in time for the ceremony to begin! So after wiping down a few chairs, everyone headed outside.
After the short and sweet ceremony and family photos, we stole Adam and Stacy away for some portraits of the happily married couple. I really loved Adam’s reaction to the photo below. He told us he loved that we captured it because it is the street he looked out his window to see his whole life.
I was really digging the cake . It had such a great, eclectic look to it, not to mention it was delicious. Chocolate peanut butter cake, hello! All that, AND it was made by one of their friends — amazing!
You might remember their dog Isabel from their engagement session. I was happy to see her make an appearance at the wedding. So cute!
Adam and Stacy we really loved getting to know you two through this whole process. You two are so much fun and full of personality and you make a perfect husband and wife. I know there will be much amazingness in your future together! Congratulations!!!
