Ahhhhh…LOST. Six years of addiction/dedication/infatuation with this amazing show came to an end last night. I thought the ending could not have been more perfect. It was on my mind all morning and lingers with me today. Purposefully ambiguous and open for interpretation, the LOST finale was like reading the last page of a great (wonderful, unforgettable, fantastic, riveting, thought-provoking…) book. Watching LOST together has been something Geoff have done together since we started our relationship together and we are HUGE LOST fans, so for the final episode, we decided to throw big viewing party for our friends.
I decorated the place a bit with some luggage from the plane crash and some jungle foliage.
Mike and Melissa (whom you might recognize) came dressed as the cutest Mr. Clucks employees ever! They were one of the winners of our costume contest.
All the party-goers who dressed up: Charlie as the Polar Bear (check out those claws!), Dharma motor pool member, Miles, Mr. Clucks employees, Richard, Sayid, Jack, Smoke Monster, Charlie, Sun, Claire, and Dr. Jack.
After that we all sat down to witness the end of LOST. I truly will miss our weekly dosage of the greatness of that show. The more I think about it the more I love the way it ended and think it could not have been more perfect. The theme of the end was all about “letting go” and I think that this episode did that for the viewers. Yes, there were plenty of unanswered questions, but in the end that is not what matters. What an epic work — here’s to LOST!
I am so excited to finally share the wonderful wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Paul and Elise. It was such a special, personal day and they both put so much thought and personality in to every detail — the whole day was just SO Elise and Paul. From reading Elise’s blog, I know how much hard work she put into planning their wedding, but the whole day just seemed so effortless. Geoff and I both felt special to be the ones capturing it. We began the day taking some photos of Elise and Paul getting ready at the Citizen hotel, the location of their reception.
After the ceremony we all went back to the Citizen Hotel for some portraits of the newlyweds. We took a few out front and then rode up to their honeymoon suite for some pictures on the balcony overlooking the Sacramento skyline.
Reception time! Check out all of Elise and Paul’s great details. My favorites are the cute menu cards (which Elise designed herself to match her wedding invitations) and the “e&p” cocktail napkins. So cute and colorful!
Elise’s aunts planned this awesome game where Paul and Elise had to answer questions like, “Who does most of the cleaning?”, and “Who is the better cook?” It was the first time I’d seen that at a wedding and it was soooo cute. They even got all but one question right!
CONGRATULATIONS Elise and Paul! We feel so honored to have been a part of your special day! Everything came together so beautifully. I know you two will have many, many years of happiness together. You two rock! Oh and readers, be sure to check out Elise’s blog to get the bride-and-groom side of the wedding day story!
Oh-my-goodness. Where to I even begin with this amazing engagement session and this rad-tastical couple? Alan and Melissa are SO great! Completely in love, hilarious together and so much fun. Their engagement session at Raley Filed was a blast. This little sneak peek is just two (I couldn’t help myself) of many, many awesome images to come.
You might remember my post about the little dog that followed me home one day. Geoff and I were looking for another home for him, but we just fell in LOVE with the sweet little guy. We decided we simply could not part with him. Well, things are official because today I just got the cute yellow collar I ordered for him and excitedly attached the tag I had made for him. Little Dog is the newest addition to our happy family!
Catherine and Alex are one unique, fun, ultra-cool couple of people. We had their engagement session in Downtown Sacramento in and around some of my favorite alleyways. We started the session with a couple of drinks at a favorite bar of Alex and Catherine, The Shady Lady.
After soaking up the sun for a bit, we headed into some grungy alleys. I love finding something beautiful in something considered “ugly”. Of course, Catherine and Alex are good-looking enough to beautify up any situation!
