We are all sooo happy around here to finally welcome baby Eva to the world! My dear friend Helena spent 36 hours in the hospital (ack!) before giving a cesarean birth to Eva Jasmine on October 11, 2009 at 12:02 pm.

I felt so honored to be in the room when Eva was brought into the world. I’m telling you, it was EMOTIONAL! I cried like (excuse the pun) a baby.

Our first little peek at baby Eva!

We were all completely shocked when she appeared to us. Eva is one huge baby! Everyone in the room took guesses for how big she was…9 pounds…10?

I loved seeing Helena’s face when she first saw the little person she had been so anxiously waiting to meet.

Sol was a proud papa too. I love that you can tell he’s got a big smile on his face even though he’s got a mask on.

Finally, she was weighed and measured. Eva was born 11 pounds, 1 ounce. She was 22 inches long! Helena you are amazing for carrying her around!

This next photo just gets me. Just look at all the emotion in momma’s face from the first time she got to see her baby up close.

Check out all Eva’s adorable little features.

After a while big brother Shae came to the hospital, terribly excited to see his new little sister.

Many congratulations to Helena and Solomon for creating such a beautiful and healthy baby girl. She is absolutely perfect and I know you both will be wonderful parents for her. Thank you for letting me be a part of the birth, I cannot even express how amazing it was to witness Eva coming into the world and to be one of the first people to meet her. I am so proud of you both! Geoff and I both love your little family so much and we feel so lucky to know you.

We are so glad to be working with the cute couple that is Wendy and Cory. They are just perfect for each other. Cory and Wendy LOVE wine tasting (they go out tasting on a weekly basis!) so what better place to hold their engagement session than a winery? We took them out to the beautiful Bogle Vineyards in Clarksburg, CA.

Isn’t Wendy’s ring beautiful?

We walked around a little bit more and found these great tanks to use as a background. I was happy we were able to throw a little industrial in the mix!

I’m in love with this photo. They both have awesome blue eyes!

We had a great time with Wendy and Cory and we are so excited for their wedding next year. Wendy is a crafty little thing, and she’s making a ton of stuff herself. Her mom is even making her wedding dress! I can’t wait to see all the fun details!

Helena is my very best friend (you may recognize her as my MOH at our wedding) and I am soooooo overjoyed for her because she is expecting a baby! She is already and awesome momma to little Shae (who was our ring bearer!) and I know when little baby Eva arrives she will be an even more amazing mother. And what is a best friend to do? Throw a kick-butt baby shower! Geoff and I teamed up and had a blast putting on the event. Below are the invitations I designed.

I have to start off this post by talking about the FOOD. Geoff planned and prepared the entire menu and it was the highlight of the party. Geoff is just amazing that way, I sure love him lots. He made a plethora of baguette slices topped with lots of fun yummy things like chicken salad, brie cheese with apples and caramelized onions, Nutella and orange marmalade, avocado with bacon and sprouts and he made fried ravioli. Everything was SO delicious.

He also made sliders with homemade chipotle mayo. Yum…

Geoff was in charge of food and I was in charge of everything else! We all had a blast playing baby shower games like “guess the melted candy bar”. The game sure elicited some grossed-out looks from the players.

We had a contest to see who could drink the most beer/soda from a baby bottle. So funny watching grown men drink out of the bottles.

That’s the most the winner could drink in 3 minutes!

I froze plastic babies in ice cubes and had a race to see who could “give birth” to their baby the fastest by sucking the ice off. No biting allowed!

And lastly blindfolded “mommies” had to feed their “babies” a jar of baby food the fastest to win the game. Mmmmm…the yellow is Mac ‘n’ Cheese flavor. Ack!

My favorite little Shae!

After the party wound down I took Helena away for a quickie maternity session. I told her she had to have at least SOME photos while she was preggers.

Who’s that peeking around from Helena’s belly? It’s Shae! Boy, doesn’t he look excited to meet his baby sister. I know he’s going to be an awesome big bro!

Helena you are such an amazing person and you are going to be a fantastic momma to Eva. Geoff and I both cannot WAIT to meet her! It really should be any day now, so expect some newborn photos up here soon!

JC and Leslie have got to be one of lovey-doviest couple we have had the pleasure of working with. Their wedding was a fabulous event entirely orchestrated by family and friends. Perfect enough, it was held in Leslie’s parent’s backyard. I do love a great backyard wedding, they are always so personal!

I was there to capture Leslie getting ready upstairs in the home. Her bridesmaids were a hoot! Such a fun and friendly group of girls.

I love the look of a bride when she sees herself in her full wedding getup for the first time!

Leslie wins the award for the smiley-est bride ever! She was simply beautiful. Just oozing joy and excitement!

As usual, Geoff got to spend some time with the fellas before the cermony. I gotta say, they were looking quite dapper in their cream and pink!

After portrait time, it was wedding time! JC and Leslie choreographed their walk down the aisle, bridal party and all. It was AWESOME!

Even the bride and her dad got in on the action!

This is one of my favorite parts of the day. The bride and groom walk out of the ceremony feeling absolutely overjoyed and especially huggy/kissy! I love capturing this moment! JC and Leslie’s moment is up there with the greats.

Leslie tried to make the thug face, but she just couldn’t keep back that smile!

LOVE this one. JC and Leslie re-created the look from one of their engagement photos.

Then it was on to the reception! They had some great details going on with the pink and brown.

PARTY TIME!

Can you spot the bride and groom? (insert ode to Where’s Waldo here)

JC and Leslie, thank you SO MUCH for letting us be a part of your wedding day. You two are incredibly sweet and you were such a joy to work with. Your love is such an inspiration! Geoff and I wish you all the best!
