Awesome background colors! We can’t wait to see the rest. Both of you are so much fun and made the session a LOVELY experience :)

Geoff and I had so much fun photographing Kevin and Jen’s Engagement session. Kevin is my little cousin and I still cannot believe he is getting married! We had their session at the lovely Discovery Park and it really turned out to be a beautiful day. The weatherman called for rain, but the clouds proved otherwise! I love just-after-rainy days — the clouds are the best!

We had a great time with you Kevin and Jen! Geoff and I both loved getting to know the two of you better as a couple. We can’t wait for the wedding in May!

What a beautiful day Jeff and Nichole’s wedding day turned out to be! Not only was the weather perfect (the storming rain literally stopped just in time for the sky to be filled with gorgeous fluffy clouds and the sun to be shining bright!), we had an amazing time celebrating the start of their marriage with them. I’ve got so many more wonderful images to share…come back soon!

We feel so lucky to have been chosen to capture the celebration of Jonathan and Lecelin’s wedding day! This is seriously one super-sweet couple! Even though we only got to know them a short time before their wedding, it was easy to see how in love and perfect for each other they are. The two of them live in Utah where Lecelin is a student and Jonathan is a 3D artist (too cool!) I’m so glad that Lecelin is from CA because we got to meet them and photograph their wedding in Sacramento and Benicia! The happy couple was sealed in the Sacramento LDS Temple in Folsom, which is where our day with them began. And what a beautiful day it was! Sacramento weddings in the wintertime always have a good chance of getting rained on, but their wedding day was gorgeous! I was loving the puffy clouds in the sky!

It’s always such fun to capture the moment the newlyweds exit the temple doors! I love the joyous looks on their faces!

I got a little alone time with the beautiful bride Lecelin while Geoff was off with the guys. She looked so wonderful — absolutely glowing with happiness!

We’d kept these two apart long enough so we met up for some portraits of the happy couple. They are simply irresistible together!

The sunshine was so pretty that day. Unusual for a day in January!

After photos at the Temple, we headed to the reception in Benecia where Lecelin’s hometown church is located.

I love roast pig at a wedding!

At the church, Jonathan and Lecelin had a ring ceremony for their friends and family that couldn’t make it to Sacramento.

Post cake-smash! Yummy!

This wedding had **by far** the most creative getaway car decoration ever! What do you when you forget the car chalk? Why, use cake of course! These guys were cracking me up!

Major congratulations to Jonathan and Lecelin! Geoff and I are so happy to have been a part of the start of your lives as husband and wife! We had so much fun getting to know your families and friends and we wish you the BEST in your new life together!

Thank you, Lisa and Geoff, for capturing the BEST moments of Lecelin & Jonathan’s special day.

And doggie makes three!

February 21, 2010

Yesterday was such a happy day! We adopted an 8-month old, miniature poodle mix from the Solano County Animal Shelter. He is so happy, energetic and downright CUTE! We named him Charlie. I love animals and have wanted a dog for FOR-EV-ER now, but the timing was never quite right. Well, now that we are settling into our new house (which has a big yard that pretty much goes unused) we started searching the shelters for a lil pooch to call our own. We looked in Sacramento, but we ended up finding our little guy way out in Santa Rosa! We’d seen him online and when we met him in person we fell in love. He was worth the trip!

Here I am with the adoption papers! We were just waiting for the vet-tech to bring Charlie out to us and make the long journey home!

Our first picture together! Charlie being distracted. He was so excited to leave the pound!

He may look big but it’s mostly fur! He’s so cuddly and fluffy! I like these photos because right before they were taken I asked Geoff, “Take a picture of the three of us.” We don’t have any kids (yet!), so it made me feel like we were officially a little family now. That makes me smile.

Once we got home and he finally got a chance to run free he was having a blast! He ran all over the backyard as fast as he could!

Geoff and I are so excited to have little Charlie in our lives! We can already tell he’s going to be a great dog. He loves to be around people and follows us around the house all day. He likes playing with his ball and cuddling up on the couch with us. We are so happy to have him!

Congrats to you both! My husband and I have two rescue dogs and they are the best things that ever happened to us! Charlie is so lucky to have you all and it looks like he’s already fit in perfectly! Enjoy him! :)

Congratulations on your sweet new puppy! I found your site months ago via your wedding dress post on Craftster, and I just keep coming back for the gorgeous and happy pictures — such great pick-me-ups!
If you’ve never had a dog before, I would recommend this book: http://www.amazon.com/Talk-Your-Jean-Craighead-George/dp/0060006234/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1266876546&sr=8-1
It’s a kid’s book, but it’s got a lot of great information about how to be and how to act around your dog to keep everybody’s roles clear.
You guys look like such a happy family already… enjoy your new house and dog!

Greg and Melinda in Paris!

February 8, 2010

I’m so excited to finally share the images from our portrait session with Greg and Melinda in Paris. Greg and Melinda are living with their twin girls in Italy where Greg is serving in the US Air Force. The two were in Paris on holiday for New Year’s so we all met up for some portraits of the happy couple. We decided to have their session around the most romantic landmark in the world, the Eiffel Tower!

We had so much fun chasing around Paris with Greg and Melinda. We saw Notre Dame together and they helped us with figuring out the Metro as it was our first full day in the City of Lights. Thank you two for being such great company and we hope see you again soon! (Perhaps in Italy next time???)
